Common questions
How do I move my progress to a new device?
Jot backs up your progress to your own iCloud Drive after each lesson. On the new iPhone or iPad, sign in to the same Apple Account, install Jot, then open Settings, then Back up and restore, then Restore from a backup, and choose the latest copy. Restoring your new device from an iCloud Backup also brings Jot's progress with it. Without iCloud, use Save a backup file, send the file to the new device, and choose Restore from a file there.
Do I need an account?
No. Jot has no accounts and works offline.
What is Jot Fluent?
Jot is a free download. Jot Fluent is the paid plan that opens every unit after the first and every game except AlephBet Race and Which letter?. The first unit (the 22 letters and the main vowels), daily practice of anything you have learned, the Bible reader, the word list and the Watch reviews are free for everyone.
I bought Jot Fluent but it says I haven't.
Open Settings in Jot, then Jot Fluent, then Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the Apple Account you bought it with. If it still does not unlock, email us.
How do I cancel, or get a refund?
Jot Fluent has three plans. Monthly and yearly renew automatically until you cancel. Lifetime is one payment, so there is nothing to cancel. Apple handles cancellations and refunds, not Jot. To cancel a monthly or yearly plan, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Jot. To ask for a refund of any plan, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Can my family share Jot Fluent?
No. Jot Fluent does not use Family Sharing. It belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, and works on every iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch signed in to that account. Anyone else in your family who wants it can buy their own.
Why does Jot want the microphone?
Only for the read-aloud exercises, so you can hear yourself next to Jot's voice. Recordings never leave your device, and the rest of Jot works without it.
How do I delete my progress?
In Jot, open Settings, then Back up and restore, then Erase progress. Deleting the app also removes everything Jot stored on that device.
